Well once again Fanfest was a blast! Get's your blood pumping for the season to start! Here is a little video I took to help you feel that shot of Sunoco we got to feel, hope you like it! Patrick
Then I told him what Jayme wanted to do to him... he turned red...
When he saw me come up he said "I tried for ya! I tried hard! We'll get it for you this year", Earlier that morning while we waited in line to get arm bands Jeff drove by in his SUV and blew the horn and waved at us as he was going in. I had my car just a little out of line so he could see the tag on the back, but out of the 200 or so cars in line he only did it once and it was for us so we felt special LOL. And as you can see I had that pic of him last year with the tag to autograph this time. But you heard it first right here on JGMonteCarloSS.com that Jeff will get the 08 cup Champoinship! On behalf of Donna and Myself, we wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
Come friend me on MySpace if you have a page! http://www.myspace.com/jgmontecarloss Patrick Well the season is over and it's kind of boring on Sundays now LOL I hope Jeff rests up and enjoys playing with his wife and daughter during his time off. We will get them in Feb! Congrats AGAIN on win # 81 at Lowes Motor Speedway! I can see it happening .... that 5th championship is in reach! We still have a long way to go, but I can see it in his eyes .... that hunger for the end game. Thanks Donna for being there and bringing him good luck and for Cowboy saying he would have bad luck which in turn Brought him good luck! I hope that Mr Hendrick and or Jeff will help me take off that "future" and "champ" decals off the back of my car once we clinch it!
Congrats on win #80!
I
wanted to tell you a little about the "new" Talladega. For years us Gordon
fans took a chance every time we walked in that place. Sometimes you got
cussed at but mostly it was dirty looks and mumbles about Gordon being gay.
After all it's a sea of red there and it's in Alabama ,,,, and you don't
want to mess with us rednecks ... even more so when there's beer involved!
The spring Talladega race was just like normal ..... I got cussed, one girls JG Monte got keyed all over the hood and doors and about 900 buds flew over my head when Gordon made his victory lap. There was fights as we walked out the gate ..... everything was normal here in Alabama. But this race something was amiss, NO ONE cussed me! There were some blue 88 shirts mixed with the red 8's and it was sort of calm for a Talladega Speedway race. Maybe because it was a little boring to watch with the COT's or maybe it was (for me) that Gordon stayed in the back and wasn't pushing anyone's buttons. I don't know. Then the 8 car blew up ....came smoking by us and I finally heard some cussing! But then something AMAZING happened! A guy in front of us with a big Budweiser on his shirt and a big one in his hand turned to his friend and said "I bet that crap wont happen next year!" Then I figured it out, they had accepted that Jr's move is a good thing and being teammates with the 24 and 48 couldn't be all that bad! Don't get me wrong there was still the boos during driver introductions but when Gordon made his move on the last lap and won he came by to more cheers than boos AT TALLADEGA! There was a few buds that were thrown but they were down by turn 4. That could have been because of the promise at the start of the race to throw anyone caught in jail and there was a big police presence at the end but those words stuck in my head .... " I bet that crap wont happen next year" I think some of the red shirts ... well the ones who stayed till the end ... were a little amazed that he won and perhaps even caught up in the thrill of seeing that happen when Jeff wasn't doing much the past 480 miles. Now for the funnies... Now most of you know that when I go to a race and it's slow or maybe Jeff had some problems at least I had something to look at to spend the time. But like I said this race just wasn't the same, this time it was this that was in front of me.
Not what I am used to to say the least! Even this guy couldn't hide his thoughts as he looked.
But at least the guy beside me wasn't this guy!! The guy standing beside him just shook his head at me as if to say "yes this sucks" after I took the pic.
The guy beside us was this guy ... he waved that t-shirt the whole damn race and that kind of got on our nerves till we got home and watched the race on TV. Sure enough the camera panned across the crowd and I could see where we were sitting! Thanks t-shirt dude!!
So I will end this with my own tribute to that 8 car ... in his last Talladega Super Speedway attempt. I believe you made the best move by joining Hendrick Motorsports. And to quote my new friends in blue. I bet that crap wont happen next year.
Now it's on to Charlotte! Patrick I always know it's time for "Dega" when the Good Year Blimp comes by my house for fuel. I'll try to post some race pictures when we get back, until then enjoy the blimp from yesterday. Patrick
Here is one I bet you've never seen up close...
They have a huge support team that follows the blimp. A Greyhound type bus, a semi and a truck with a big trailer with about 20 people to catch the ropes as they drop ... yep just like the Hindenburg
I know I haven't said this yet ... Welcome to the team Dale!
Patrick
No, I am not making this up.....
"Plaintiff seeks 22 (Billion) dollars and Gordon's #24 car for relief." "Jeff Gordon told me, 'I have secret plans to release exhaust pollution into the crowds at the next Lowe's Motor Speedway race." "Plaintiff's life is in danger from Mr. Gordon and the #24. The daily trauma inflicted on me by Jeff Gordon is torture. Plaintiff prays for relief." Riches also claims in the suit that Gordon "tied him to his bumper at the Talladega race." All I can say is if Riches body weight on the bumper caused Jeff to win last time at Talladega I hope Riches is available for this next Talladega race, we need a win! Patrick Tied for 1st after Richmond, 20 point gain in one race! Lets Keep it up!!
Here we go! The Chase is on! I Know when things look tough Jeff Gordon is the one to step up and tighten them belts and get the job done. We got to put Jimmy back in his place ASAP and I know Jeff didn't teach Jimmy ALL his tricks so lets hope Jeff turns it on starting now at Richmond!! I also updated the members list to show those who joined over the last 2 weeks sorry for the delay.
I was with you all and could hear each of you as we all (yes even you Dad0098 LOL) shouted "Ohhhhhhhhh %$#@!! as Jeff spun. I was ready to add his 80th win here but there is always next week! "... I probably mentally push myself harder than physically because I know the points aren't on the line. It's more about the win. In the Chase, I'll make sure we don't make those kinds of mistakes." Jeff GordonOn a side note, I think our new team mate Dale Jr is not being given the same equipment as other DEI drivers. After running so well and his motor blowing. I kind of hope he doesn't make the Chase and they make the move early by getting rid of Kyle and bringing Dale in early to get ready for the Hendrick 2008 "Dream Team" Patrick Steve Letarte, You are my HERO! That was an amazing call and it worked! For win 79! I don't know about you guys but I was doing the rain dance!

Lets all congratulate Al Vandenack on the marriage of his eldest daughter! Mike and Deanna, we wish you many years of prosperity and joy!
A big thank you to Donna, Al, Gene and Marge for your financial support in keeping this website running. We don't charge a "membership" fee and I want to keep "our" site ad free and your gifts have helped a lot! If you would like to contribute toward the cost of upkeep and hosting fees on this site please send whatever you can to: Patrick Rhodes, PO Box 1, Headland Alabama 36345 or you can Paypal me at UamazedME@aol.com Nitro Box! Some of you have asked about the power chip I have on my JG Monte that I talked about in the forum a while back. It's called the Nitro box and the maker is selling them on eBay! It's easy to install and you will get about 15-20hp out of it! I can really feel the difference. If you need to take it off for any reason it comes right off. It's connected to the MAS (on the hose that goes to the air filter box) You can see 2 wires on it. Just pull the wires out of the black wire loom and connect the red wire to the brown one black to black... simple! It gave me faster take off power, better throttle response and a lot more torque! No change in gas my mileage but I read that some people get better mileage after installing it. Cost is about $40 but it's the best money you will ever spend on your car! His eBay name is ntroperformanceco if he doesn't have one for your car or truck on eBay just email him because he keeps all models in stock. Tell him Patrick from JGMonteCarloSS.com told you to get one! They make them for all models of cars and truck so ask about getting one for each of your vehicles! I'm hooked! Clicking his eBay name above will take you to his page ....as of this update he has one auction going with 15 of them for the Monte Carlo item # 280037270910 (you can buy just one, it's just so he doesn't have to have 15 auctions going for one model car) Happy riding! Patrick Donna's adventure at the 2nd car signing! I went to Richard Childress Racing
Museum on Wednesday the day before the Jeff car signing. I saw a Jeff Gordon
Monte Carlo in the parking lot. It had a Canadian license plate, so I
decided to see if it was someone from this site or not. I asked a couple of
people inside if it was their car and they pointed to a nice couple. I went
up to them and asked them if they knew about this site and they said no, so
I told them that Jeff was having a car signing at Hendrick on Thursday. I
told them, that maybe if they wanted to to go and ask for Chrissy or Haley
and see if they would let you get yours signed. But at the time, in my mind,
I figured, they would not, but hey you never know. AND a big welcome to all the new members! Patrick Rhodes My good buddy Thomas Johnson finally has his Monte Carlo club's web site up and running. Monte Millennium Generations is there for all generation Monte Carlo owners. There is a wealth of information on the history of the Monte Carlo. Membership includes some nice goodies and discounts at several automotive sites. Check them out at www.montemill.com He had this to say: "We cater to all generations of Chevrolet Monte Carlo's, from 1970's to present. All Monte Carlo's are welcome! We are here to bring Monte Carlo owners and enthusiasts together worldwide. If you own a Monte Carlo, we want to see you and allow you to show others your car. Regardless if your Monte is original, restored, modified, under construction or nonexistent (yet) we want you here. " Be sure to stop by when you get a chance. Patrick II was very excited this morning. I popped over to www.KBB.com (Kelly Blue Book) and saw they have finally given us a place to check for the Jeff Gordon Edition. For you long time members you probably can remember the fights we had trying to get them to list the JG edition when they already had the 02 Dale Sr and 04 Jr editions listed. Well we won .... so I thought! As I went in and entered everything I got the price then I went back and did it WITHOUT checking the option for the JG edition and guess what?!?! It doesn't change!!!!! They don't give a boost in price for checking the JG edition. WTF! Try it and see if I am wrong. Make sure you pick the same options each time and the only thing you change on each price check is the box for the JG edition. If it's true then it's time to unleash on them again! Patrick
